Every country has different requirements for customs
clearance. India is not different, but do not worry. In this
text, we are going to lay out the requirements for the bill
of lading.
As of 1st of April of 2018, the government of India has
taken into effect a requirement to display in every BL the
Goods and Services Tax Number, the Importer and Exporter
number, and the importer’s contact information, such as
email address and phone number.
Since 2019, it is also mandatory that the total value of the
cargo is displayed on the BL.
